🌹 Beauty from Ashes
By Sydney Curtin

My daughter turned six years old this week
Six years of love. Six years of longing.Six years of holding tightly to a promise I believe with every fiber of my being—that God will restore beauty from the ashes.
🔥 The Meaning Behind Her Name
I named my daughter Emberlyn before the world tried to rename her.
Her name came from a place of intention and wisdom. Growing up, my father always reminded me:
"Never make decisions in a firestorm."
And yet, when she was born, I found myself right in the middle of one.I was scared. Pressured. Cornered. But I never wanted her to think she was an accident or unwanted.
Ember – the glowing remnants of fire that still carry warmth and life.
Lyn – meaning beautiful.
Emberlyn – Beautiful Firestorm.
Her name is a symbol. A prayer. A declaration that even in chaos, something beautiful can arise.
🌱 Holding On to Hope
Hope isn’t always loud. Sometimes it’s a flicker. A breath. A whisper in the dark. But it’s still hope—and it still matters.
"…to give them a crown of beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, and a garment of praise for a spirit of despair."— Isaiah 61:3
This verse has carried me.
Even when I couldn’t carry myself.
Because I believe in a God who restores, revives, and rewrites stories—especially the ones that feel lost.
🕰 Trusting God’s Timing
If I could choose, Emberlyn would be home today—laughing, twirling in birthday ribbons, and falling asleep under my roof. But that day hasn’t come yet.
And still, I trust.
Like seasons must pass before harvest…Like stars only appear after sunset…God’s timeline is never rushed—but it is always right.
💌 To My Emberlyn
Happy Birthday, my beautiful firestorm. You were never unwanted. You were never a mistake. You are and will always be mine.
I believe in the future God has for us—One not shaped by the insecurity of others, but by divine redemption.
I will always have a room for you. I will always plan a life with you in it. And I will never stop praying for the day when our beauty from ashes becomes reality.
💬 You Don’t Have to Walk This Road Alone
If you’re in a place where hope feels out of reach—where the valley feels too deep, the fire too hot, or the silence too loud—please hear me: you are not alone.
You weren’t meant to carry it all by yourself.
Whether you’re navigating loss, confusion, injustice, or the ache of unanswered prayers—there is a way forward. There is healing. There is light.
And there is hope, even when it feels hidden.
✨ If your heart needs space to be heard, healed, and held—I'm here.
Let’s talk. Let’s begin your journey back to purpose, strength, and the future God has for you.
You don’t have to do this alone anymore. Let’s find beauty from your ashes—together.
